New 2-(1-methyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)- and 2-(1-methyl-1H-indol-3-yl)-5-fluoro- and -6,7,8-trifluoro-1,3-benzothiazin-4-ones have been synthesized in high yields by reaction of o-fluorobenzoyl isothiocyanates with C-nucleophilic 1-methyl-1H-pyrrole and 1-methyl-1H-indole, followed by base-catalyzed cyclization. The products were characterized by 1H, 13C, and 19F NMR and mass spectra and X-ray diffraction data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
