Abstrakt: During a coral reef monitoring survey in Mandapam group of Islands, two gelatinous egg mass of Polychaetes worm were sighted from the Hare and Manoli Islands of Mandapam. Polychaete eggs basically occur in the sediment, mud, reef substrata. Finding of jelly like egg masses of polychaetes belonging to the family nereididae underneath of coral rocks is a rare sightingof various marine faunal diversity. Polychaetes play an important role in the marine trophic levels by feeding on marine algae and also larvae of ploychaeta are being fed by marine invertebrates, fishes and birds.
