The article discusses a report on the pattern of the circadian rhythm of pancreatic secretion in fed pigs. It states that a reversed flow of digesta to the pancreas was overcome by using a nonperforated T-cannula placed in the duodenum to prevent stoppage of pancreatic juice flow, thus ensuring free reentrant flow of pancreatic juice between the experiments. It adds that the plasma concentrations of insulin had a pattern that corresponded to the first phase of the exocrine pancreas. |
