Abstrakt: The article reports that human cementum protein extract promotes chondrogenesis and mineralization in mesenchymal cells. The formation of new bone, cementum and periodontal ligament has been the goal of periodontal therapy. However, there has been limited success in understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying these processes. According to some reports, cementum possesses unique molecules that could play a key role in periodontal regeneration. Some of these molecules have been shown to promote the migration, attachment and growth of periodontal ligament cells and influence their extracellular matrix synthesis.
