In this study, the author examines the regional mechanisms of multilateral cooperation in supporting sustainable development. The geographic scope of the study covers the Central Africa region. Among the key tasks and areas of cooperation the author highlights: 1) infrastructure development; 2) access to sustainable energy; 3) efficient water resources management; 4) conservation of ecosystem biodiversity. The author summarizes that the latest sub–regional initiatives and multilateral cooperation projects of Central African States improve the level of transparency and communication between the participants as well as create the basis for a cooperative security system in the field of non–traditional threats and challenges. Nonetheless, such cooperation is still discrete and incomplete. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
