Abstrakt: For determining the effective multiplication factor (keff) and the flux distribution in a given reactor (very important task for fuel assembly design and whole core safety analysis), the finite element spherical harmonics (SPN) and the method of characteristics (MOC) are a widely used. The aim of this work is to qualify the numerical methods and algorithms implemented in (TRIVAC/OpenMOC) codes using the classic 2D IAEA PWR benchmark problem. The results of the two codes for keff value and flux map distribution are compared with each other. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
