Abstrakt: We demonstrate that ultra-directional forward scattering can be realized in a quasi-periodic spoof plasmonic structure by combining two textured substructures with periodic grooves and slits along the azimuth direction. The quasi-periodic spoof plasmonic structure can independently support electric and magnetic dipolar modes in different substructure parts and the resonant frequencies can be tuned easily by tailoring the structural parameters. The results show that the interference of the overlapped electric and magnetic dipolar modes in the spoof plasmonic structure can generate ultra-directional forward scattering of light, while the backward scattering can be completely suppressed. The presented simple design can be applied to various advanced optical devices, such as antenna, photovoltaic devices, metamaterials and metasurfaces from microwave to the terahertz region.
