This paper presents a new multidisciplinary design algorithm of electrical motors with permanent magnets for fuel pumps. The proposed algorithm takes into account hydraulic losses in electrical motors, thermal conditions, rotor dynamics, as well as the production program and the cost of the electrical machines. The algorithm is tested in the design and the optimization of two permanent-magnet motors for fuel pumps. Designing has been conducted in conditions of limited cost. This paper describes all design nuances with the use of the proposed algorithm and shows its effectiveness. In addition, this article shows the optimization of the developed electrical machines with permanent magnets by using genetic algorithms. The optimal variant for the given limitations is revealed. Tests in the fuel pump of the created prototypes have showed their effectiveness. A further research direction will be a development of a new design for electrical motors with interior permanent magnets for their use in the fuel pump, as well as the creation of electrical machines for an aircraft engine by using the proposed algorithm.
