Charge Exchange in Fast p-O Collisions.

Abstrakt: The prior forms of four-body boundary-corrected first Born (CB1-4B) [1] and the four-body boundary-corrected continuum-intermediate-states (BCIS-4B) [2] approximations are applied to calculate the total cross sections for single electron capture from the K-shell of oxygen atomic target by fast protons. Comparisons the obtained results with the available measurements are carried out and very good agreement with the presented methods is recorded at intermediate and high energy. For the considered process only the measurement of Cocke et al. [3] correspond to capture from the K-shell of the oxygen. Other measurements did not isolate contribution from the K-shell. All the available measurement are made with molecular target O2 one may admit that the capture cross section is close to that of atomic target O divided by two. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
