This report comprises the first part of an investigation into the methodology of clinical examinations of patients with bridges. The complete study is concerned with the following problems. (1) To what extent do deviations occur between observers in the independent recording of factors of interest in the re-examination of patients with fixed bridges? (2) Are the deviations observed systematic? (3) Does a cumulative and simultaneous examination lead to less deviating results?
