Presented review summarizes disposable references concerning use of vegetative propagation methods aimed to recovering and preservation of specific forms, partial populations and valuable ecotypes of Norway spruce (Picea abies /L./ H. Karst.). The main basis for this review is the elaboration and updating of methodical procedures for the vegetative propagation of the spruce presented and published in the previous and current periods. Individual known ways of N. spruce vegetative propagation are described in comparison with generative methods of this species reproduction. Comparison of both methods is formulated with regards to economical and all-society significance of their application in forestry management. The subject of the research should be e.g. the continuation to develop and test growth stimulators and adjust their dosing. Also, it is recommended to continue with the updates, respectively innovations of vegetative propagation methods of N. spruce with regards to necessity to keep all newly developed and verified methods of vegetative propagation and their application in forest nurseries and forestry practice.
