This article focuses on the effect of cooperative movement in America on the oil industry and private industry in general. According to Warren C. Platt, editor of the "National Petroleum News," the growth in oil cooperatives will be over and probably a lot of those running will drop out of business because it is not conceivable that they can be run as efficiently as an oil company. According to Harry B. Hilts, president of the Petroleum Industry Research Foundation, the cooperatives in the United States have developed into a power that no one concerned with the future of American society can overlook. |
