The article explores a project by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) that used precast concrete panels (PCPs) for rapid rehabilitation of a bridge approach slab. The advantage of the rehabilitation on roadways with high traffic volumes where work can be done only during short lane closures is tackled. The installation steps used for each of the phases include the removal of the existing base and the placement of a geogrid over the subbase. |
