When looking at the nursing profession we see that the "command" or "management" type of nursing structure shows that one of its consequences is a strict division of function and tasks, some of which are rated as low or menial and others as high and desirable. It has been suggested that, in many instances, the ranking of a particular task is in inverse, relationship to the satisfaction it brings the patient. An amount of status attaches to each person proportionate to the rating accorded to his set tasks. |
