The article discusses management of gender dysphoria in adolescents in primary care which is the distress experienced by an individual when their gender identity and their gender assigned at birth are discordant. It mentions that depression, dysthymia and symptoms of depression affect adolescents with gender dysphoria. It states that primary health care providers can support adolescents with gender dysphoria by providing guidance on timing of social transitioning and medical management. |
