Abstrakt: The main motive of present investigation is to analyse a temperature-thickness coupling problem in a nonhomogeneous tapered rectangular plate. Here, bi-directional variations in temperature (i.e., linear in x-direction and parabolic in y-direction) are considered. Nonlinear thickness variation is taken as parabolic in x-direction. To characterize the non-homogeneity present in plate's material, the Poisson ratio of the plate's material is considered to vary exponentially in x-direction. Also, plate's material is considered isotropic and visco-elastic. A Rayleigh Ritz approach is applied to find the frequency, deflection, and logarithmic decrement for the first two modes of vibration at various combinations of structural parameters i.e., non-homogeneity constant, taper constant, aspect ratio, and thermal gradient. Results are shown in tabular form. The present paper is compared with existing results and authors found excellent agreement [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
