Abstrakt: The article reports that Senator J.W. Fulbright's committee that is investigating the Reconstruction Finance Corp. (RFC) was correct in interpreting as a "counter-attack" the U.S. President Harry S. Truman's sudden request for letters RFC had received from Congressmen with respect to loans. If the committee carries out its implied promise to publish these letters, despite the White House admission that they reveal no illegality, the ultimate effect should be to strengthen the hand of investigators. Whether or not illegal acts have been committed, it is obvious from the committee's interim reports that RFC has been subjected to political and personal pressures with regard to some of its loans, if not to its broad policies.
