Abstrakt: The paper presents eighteen virtual models designed and implemented into the teaching and learning processes in Medical Biochemistry at the Medical University of Sofia. The topic areas chosen are Proteins, Nucleic Acids, Enzymes, Bioenergetics, Metabolism of Carbohydrates, Lipids, Amino Acids, Nucleotides, Porphyrins, and Recombinant DNA Technologies. The impact of the virtual models is strongly positive. Students consider they are understandable and suitable for acquiring new knowledge. Virtual models are particularly important if they are used as a subject of discussion during the practical exercises. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
