Abstrakt: This paper presents results of the measurements of the introduced voltage of eddy-current transducers (ECT) at the boundaries of the steel-dielectric section. The subject matter is considered relevant due to the need for the evaluation and prediction of safe operating life of electric steel products. A scheme using a computer as a generator and receiver of signals from windings is proposed. This allowed us to develop a sensor designed to measure the characteristics of electrical steel and to optimize its parameters. Having the designed transducer as a basis, a hardware-software complex was built to perform experimental studies of steel at the interface boundary. Test results are reported for a specimen with continuous and discrete measurements taken at different frequencies. The studies allow us to make a certain conclusion about the condition of the studied object depending on the ECT response and prove the possibility of using the sensor in thickness measurement, as well as in the study of the structural properties of steels and, enable the design of sensors based on ECT of a transformer type to be optimized. Presentation of induced voltage changes in the form of mathematical dependences elicits the ways of interaction between the electromagnetic field of eddy-current converter and the residual magnetic field of steel.
