Drawing upon the institutional economics theoretical framework, we examine the relationships between women entrepreneurs' firm performance and the family financial and moral support and personal problems in the context of Morocco and Turkey. Country context is significantly related to women-owned businesses performance in three areas. Family financial support is positively related to firm performance in Morocco compared to Turkey. However, family moral support is related to worse firm performance in Morocco than in Turkey. Personal problems of women entrepreneurs are negatively related to firm performance in Turkey compared to Morocco. Implications and future research are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
