Abstrakt: The development of the aerospace industry is associated with the use of modern high-strength aluminum alloys in structures and products. This paper describes experimental studies to optimize the laser welding process of aluminumlithium alloys 1420 and 1424 of Al–Mg–Li system. An important objective of this study is to obtain the structural-phase composition and mechanical characteristics at the level of the base alloy or higher by heat treatment. Full heat treatment of samples from alloy 1420 significantly increased the strength of the weld (1.5 times) compared with the strength of the base alloy. As a result of the research, welded joints were obtained. The strength of the joints was equal to or higher than that of the base alloy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
