Abstrakt: The adsorption method from methylene blue solutions was used to study the surface properties of bentonite and vermiculite particles. Bentonite activated by acid or mechanically was also studied. The second silicate was also presented in the study in several samples: initial vermiculite, vermiculite treated at 900°C, and their mechanically activated forms. These silicates are used to prepare nanocomposites based on polytetrafluoroethylene. An increase of the adsorption constant with respect to methylene blue was established for all materials after activation, which indicates an increase in the surface energy of the samples. In addition, the adsorption constant significantly increases after heat treatment of vermiculite at 900°C. The growth of the constant after the heat treatment of silicate is due to the production of a mineral with other crystal-chemical properties. An increase of the adsorption constant for the samples after activation is possible due to the release into the medium of magnesium (and aluminum) ions released from the octahedral layer of silicates and capable of donor-acceptor interaction with methylene blue.
