Abstrakt:	The attitude of the political and military environment towards the leader of the UPR Simon Petliurais analysed. Interpersonal relations and their influence on the course of historical events are characterised. On the ground of the emigrants’ epistolary heritage it was made an attempt to turn the spotlight objectively on their attitude towards personality of Simon Petliura; to turn up interpersonal contacts and discover polarity of opinions and interpretations.
