Abstrakt: Chapter 12 of the book "Learning from Construction Failures: Applied Forensic Engineering" by Peter Campbell, is presented. It mentions that Iron oxide occupies a larger volume than steel, consequently it expands, causing cracks and outer layers ultimately to fall away thus exposing more steel. It states that the documentation showed that the contractors offered to build the containers, not from pressed and laminated or moulded sheets as was normal.
