the article discusses channelling students who are academically gifted into the visual arts. Topics discussed include Singapore-based Nanyang Girls' High School's (NYGHS) Art Elective Program (AEP), students enrolled in the AEP studying drawing and painting, design, project work, and art history, criticism of Asian students for not being creative in the arts, tours to museums, galleries and studios, and sculpture parks, primary objective of the AEP being to provide students who excel in their academic studies an opportunity to be exposed to the visual arts. |
