Furniture industry has a higher tendency to contribute towards the natural calamity in terms of tree logging. Nevertheless, this research is to determine the effectiveness to prevent tree logging or any other harmful act that contributes to natural calamity in the process of furniture production by using resin embedded with recycle waste material. The numbers of hardener drops were manipulated in order to check the compatibility of a fixed amount of resin. A number of samples were done on the recycle waste material with resin to check its mechanical properties to pick the best waste material in order to design and develop furniture. The mechanical testing stands from tensile test and also bending test that was purely tested under the Universal Tensile Machine (UTM). Additionally, an absorption test was also done in order to check the percentage of water absorption that a small piece of resin embedded with recycle waste material can take up. Upon analysing the results, all results were tabulated to determine the best compatibility of resin with recycle waste materials. At the end of the research, it was observed that the higher the number of recycle waste material embedded with resin, the higher mechanical properties it beholds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
