Abstrakt: The aim of the present study was to investigate changes in maximal strength (bench press and leg press), in fat mass, in waist circumference and in waist-hip ratio after 12 weeks of strength training with 4 methods: Conventional, Bi-Set, Circuit and Isoton. 75 male subjects aged between 20 and 30 years were randomly assigned into 4 experimental and 1 control group (with 15 subjects each). Before, every 4 weeks and after the training program maximal strength and anthropometrics were evaluated and compared with two factors (group x moment) repeated measures ANOVA. Post- 12 weeks of intervention every experimental group improved maximal strength and fat mass, when compared with control group. Among the experimental groups, the conventional training attained less evident improvements. No changes were detected in waist circumference and in waist-hip ratio in none of the 4 experimental groups. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
