Abstrakt:	The article highlights the life and works of Dhondup Gyal, a Tibetan writer from Amdo. Topics discussed include learning of Tibetan language at the Central Institute of Nationalities in Beijing, China; views of Tibetan writer Tashi Palden on Gyal's work which he considered as the first collection of writings of Tibetan modern literature; and his literary style.
