Abstrakt: Organic substances-rich floc produced from the rearing of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) with biofloc technology (BFT) contains enough nutrients which can be utilized as culture medium for Daphnia magna. In this study, the utilization of the floc as a substrate in Daphnia magna culture as one of the sustainable farming system was observed. The fish rearing systems used C/N ratios of 10 and 15 that provide the biofloc in the form of deposition and suspension. Culture of Daphnia was performed in twenty water containers; each was filled with 1 L water and 10 Daphnia magna with egg sac at the temperature of 28±2 °C for 12 h in the dark condition and 12 h in the condition with light. The substrates given for the rearing was the various biofloc and chicken manure as a control. Effect of the substrates on the culture was observed for 14 days through the biofloc profile, water quality parameters (pH, temperature, DO, TAN, nitrite, nitrate and BOD) and the responses of the Daphnia. As results, it can be seen that the utilization of the substrates from the deposition with C/N ratio of 15 gave the best impact on the D. magna with the total individuals of 97, the number of neonates was 75 and the number of females was 17.
