Abstrakt: John Wesley Powell, the civil war veteran who lead the first expedition down to the Colorado river, has been a beloved American icon since the published of his journal of the trip in the 1870s. Powell was incredibly narcissistic. He considered his crew hired servants, berating and belittling them for inconsequential things but rarely, if ever, praising them for their backbreaking work.
