Abstrakt: Estuaries are areas meets the seawater has high salinity and low salinity of the river water. An estuary is a unique and complex ecosystem with the presence of various habitat types. Seawater and river water are met in an estuary region would make the estuary area rich in biodiversity. In this study estuaries limit will be reviewed by the variable salinity. Salinity in the estuary area is in the range from 0.5-30‰. Distribution of salinity in this study was obtained from the estimation algorithm based image distribution of salinity on March 28, 2014, May 15, 2014, September 4, 2014, and October 6, 2014. The Cimandiri algorithm and the Wouthuyzen algorithm have different characteristics. Algorithm validation dated January 17th 2017 was conducted to determine the distribution of salinity estimation algorithm, which appropriates for use in the Lampung Bay. Distribution of salinity Lampung Bay is created using algorithms to estimate the distribution of salinity validated the results with measurements directly in the field using a refractometer. The results showed the salinity distribution estimator two estuarine zones in the Lampung Bay is Mexo-mesohaline and Mexopolyhaline. Other zones are in the Lampung Bay is Euryhaline zone.
