Alumina ceramic samples doping with a different concentration of manganese ions were synthesized at varying the temperature and atmosphere of sintering. The pulse cathode- and photoluminescence spectra and termoluminescence curves have been measured to evaluate the effect of manganese ion concentration on luminescence in various bands during the formation of impurity centers in alumina ceramics. It has been established that an increase in the manganese concentration leads to a decrease in the luminescence band intensity of the intrinsic center of aluminum oxide (400 nm) due to concentration quenching for ceramics synthesized by high-temperature annealing both in air and in vacuum. An increase in the luminescence band intensity of the impurity center (676 nm) of ceramic sintered in vacuum is noted as well as an increase in the luminescence intensity of the manganese in comparison with other luminescence peaks for ceramics annealed in air. It is shown that impurity centers of manganese contribute both to the intensity of the TL peak at 370 K and at 410 K. In this case, the intrinsic centers of aluminum oxide affect to a greater extent only the intensity of the peak at 410 K. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
