Reaction of solutions of uranium tri- and tetrachloride with lithium oxide was studied in the melts based on the eutectic mixture of lithium and potassium chlorides. The experiments were conducted at 550 and 750 °C, and the atomic ratio of oxygen-to-uranium in the melt varied from 0.5 to 2.0. Degree of uranium precipitation from the melt and the phase composition of the solids formed were determined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
