A ferromagnetic resonance measurement technique based on coplanar waveguides is presented. This technique is adapted to measure the high frequency response of metallic magnetic materials in the frequency domain up to 20 GHz and is complementary to the inductive time-domain method. Upon scanning the frequency at constant field, for varying field angle, the frequency-field dispersion as well as the frequency linewidth can be obtained. The absorption spectra for a Co90Zr10 continuous film and for Fe20Ni80 wires of different thickness are presented. For the latter an increase in the linewidth and damping parameter is observed with increasing wire thickness. © 2004 American Institute of Physics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
