Abstrakt: |
The dermatophytes fungi revealed highly resistance against wide spectrum of antifungals, there are several of antifungal products with poor clinical activity in markets and these resistances increased the patients suffering. Many of natural plant extracts consider as a huge source of antimicrobials and importance due to their availability and safety. This study aims to evaluate the antifungal activity of powder and extract of Furcraea foetida leaves for in vitro against Microsporum canis and Aspergillus fumigates were determined by agar -well diffusion method and agar-powder method. The results showed the water extracts and plant powder of F. foetida were found to be an effective agent against Microsporum canis and A. fumigates. The present study has revealed that the leaf extract of F. foetida has been used 1% concentration and produces favourable results in comparison to the positive control (Ketocanazole). These results can be exploited for further pharmacological uses agents dermatophyte fungi that attacked human health and invest industrially for medical shampoo or a drug for hair treatment. This results mark novel information regarding the importance of F. foetida as natural antifungal source. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
