Abstrakt: The article focuses on the study related to adverse cardiac events in diabetics undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Univariate and multivariate analyses, with 37 clinical and angiographic variables, compared those with and without restenosis. Predicted restenosis rates were calculated using reference charts derived from angiographic data. 418/3090 stented patients with 6 month angiographic follow up had diabetes. Restenosis occurred in 550/2672 non-diabetic and 130/418 diabetic patients. Univariate predictors of restenosis in those with diabetes were vessel reference diameter minimal luminal diameter before stenting, MID and percentage diameter stenosis after stenting, stented vessel length and reduced body mass index.
