The political aspects of creating a state historical chronicle that reveals the peculiarities of social processes and cultural life in Japan at the end of VII-VIII centuries are analyzed. The significance of «Shoku Nihongi» work as an instrument of struggle for power in the environment of the ruling elite at the initial stage of the formation of feudal relations in Japan was determined. The role of «Shoku Nihongi» as a political text involved in the process of creating a positive image of the state in foreign policy and relations with China was explored. The political functions of «Shoku Nihongi» are singled out as a chronicle within the framework of the formation of national historical discourse in the VIII century. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
