Abstrakt: The article deals with the historical experience of the displaced universities during the First World War. Detailed analysis of the historical situation, the causes and features of evacuation of universities, as well as the role and participation of state authorities in these processes. On historical examples of Warsaw (now the Southern Federal University, Russia), Kyiv (Kyiv National Technical University named after T. G. Shevchenko, Ukraine), Petrograd (St. Petersburg State University, Russia) and Yuriev (Tartu University, Estonia) universities, a general conclusion about the possibilities of reintegration of modern high schools that have moved through the conflict on Donbass.
