The educational, publishing, art-creative, monument-protective and economic-productive vectors of the educational activity of the Pochayiv monastery’s monks during the 17th - early 20th centuries are defined here. It is emphasized that all these factors as a whole became the stages in forming and development of processes of realization by local citizens their ethnical belonging to the Ukrainian nation, and in broader context - one of the basements of forming Ukrainian national self-consciousness. It is proved that the educating activity of Pochayiv Monastery contributed not only to the creating of high national culture, but to evolution of the Ukrainian nation into the conscious national society, having played the role of important factor of national identity.
