This article discusses about the international conference which had been called to establish a World Brigade for Nonviolent Action, and to plan its initial projects. The structure of the projected World Peace Brigade was not yet fully determined; its officers had still to be named; no money had yet been raised; one of the Indians had convinced the conference that a thousand volunteers must be called for in the first year, but the call had yet to go out. The new organization was still just fifty-five people from thirteen countries gathered in a Quaker school that had been left vacant for the holidays. |
