The article discusses a study which determined the impact on the manner in which elementary school teachers approach the teaching of literature following their exposure to reading theories of literary theorist Louise Rosenblatt. Topics include Rosenblatt's aesthetic and efferent stance on reading, an overview of the study design and data collection methods and the possible reasons for the changes in the teachers' approach to teaching literature after their exposure to Rosenblatt's theories. |
