Abstrakt: Studies on isolation and identification of pheromone compounds was carried out under laboratory condition at NBAIR, Bengaluru. The results revealed that, abdomen volatiles tested against female, the electro physiologically active peaks were observed at retention time 4.76 min, 7.4 min and 9.9 min and were identified as 1-Octanol, (E)-3-Dodecene and 3-Ethylundecane. Similarly, when females were exposed to male thorax volatiles, the response was observed at retention time 9.0 min and the compound identified was 1-Octadecene. However, in case of male insects when exposed to female abdomen, the compounds identified were 4-Ethyl-1-octanol and Heptadecane at retention time 7.1 min and 14.7 min, respectively. In case of male antennae when exposed to female thorax volatiles, the responses were observed at 4.7 min, 9.6 min and 13.5 min and the compounds were identified as Octanal (2r)-2-amino-2-methyl-3-phenylpropanoic acid and Ethyl benzoyl pyruvate.
