Abstrakt: Nitrogen-doped mesoporous carbon (N-doped MC) with high nitrogen content was fabricated by a facile nano casting approach using melamine formaldehyde resin as nitrogen and carbon source. The textural and morphological features of as-prepared N-doped MC were investigated by appropriate techniques such as N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, Scanning Electron Microscopy- Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (SEMEDS) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Characterization results were demonstrated that N doped MC possessed highly ordered structure, large specific surface area (1262 m2/gm) and pore volume (0.908 cm3/g) and it owned high nitrogen content 13.15 wt.%. Due to elevated N content and surface area this material may useful in energy storage systems, catalysis, biosensors, nanodevices and other energy applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
