Abstrakt: Ambidexterity is widely understood to be critical for a firm's sustained success and survival. Yet how exactly firms achieve ambidexterity is still not well understood. In particular, we lack a good sense of the microfoundations of organizational ambidexterity. It is the aim of this symposium to push the discussion in this realm, including yet also going beyond the particular traits and skills of individuals toward social interaction and practices of individuals in processes of ambidexterity. To do so, this symposium will bring together both ambidexterity and microfoundations scholars in order to enable a productive discussion of how to push the field forward.
