Abstrakt:	The article focuses on the conservation of the whooping crane also known as Grus americana. Topics discussed include information on the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge (NWR); federal protection given to whooping crane in 1967 under the Endangered Species Preservation Act; and the establishment of a special bird research projects at Patuxent Wildlife Research Center (WRC) in Maryland.
