The paper is focused on resistance capacity of connection high thin-walled cold-formed steel Z purlin in support region. The influence of additional clip connected by bolts thought the bottom flange of the purlin to the supporting structure was also studied. Overall behavior of high Z purlins purlin and its connection is highly influenced by the local stability problems specially web and flange crippling. A series of physical test was performed. The results of these experiments were used to verify numerical models. Two connection setups were tested, one with a clip and the other with a reinforcement clip. Numerical and experimental data was compared and influence of reinforcement clip on load bearing capacities and failure modes in support region was observed. The presented results are part of extensive research which aims to create recommendations and methodology for the design and Z purlins checks according standards. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
