We are presenting to the Slovak as well as foreign professional public Štefan Tóbik's lifework Dialects of Gemer I/1,2 (2018), Dialects of Gemer II/1,2 (2019), and Dialects of Gemer III (2019), issued in two stages by the Publishing House of Prešov University. The first volume is dedicated to the 16th International Congress of Slavists in Beograd (2018); the other two are issued on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the author's birth (1909-2019). In Slovak linguistics and dialectology, this is an extraordinary event, as the author finalised the manuscript and handed it in to the Editorial Office of the National Geographic Society of Gemer (Gemerská vlastivedná spoločnosť) in Rimavská Sobota (within the edition National Geographic Views of Gemer (Gemerské vlastivedné pohľady) right before his premature death in 1969. Academic publications for the above society were issued by two publishing houses - Obzor in Bratislava and Osveta in Martin. All this information can be found on the title pages of the first and the second volume of the manuscript. Due to various subjective as well as objective reasons, publishing this masterpiece was postponed for fifty years, causing many representatives of Slovak linguistics to lose all hope the manuscript would be found.
