Abstrakt: Joint modeling of mixed responses has become a popular research area due to its applicability in many disciplines. In this study, the concept of joint modeling has been applied to poultry industry with the presence of clustered data. Assessing the effects of breeder factors such as breeder age and fertility rate for the estimation of the number of hatching eggs, considering the length of storage of eggs was the aim of this study. The joint model obtained combining Discrete Time Hazard Model (DTHM) and Poisson Regression Model was used as the methodology to analyze the data in this study. The results revealed that the joint model has a better fit compared to the two separate univariate models, in terms of BIC and standard error of covariance parameters, and the effects of each variable were interpreted accordingly.
