Among the range of problematic issues in the history of the Second World War, the greatest interest of scholars is caused by those concerning the processes of formation of the fundamental principles of the nationalist ideology of their implementation by political parties, the prospects of the national liberation movement in the late 1940s and early 1950's. Objective assessment of the work of the OUN and the nationalist armed forces created by it have the potential to put an end to the controversy of scientists regarding the nature, tactics and strategy of the struggle. Given the diametrically opposite attitude of Ukrainians to the proposed problem caused by the lack of reliable information, political speculations, the relevance of the topic is determined not only by scientific and cognitive factors, but also by practical - political ones.
