Findings from educational research are usually not used in school practice to an extent that is deemed to be worthwhile. This is due, among other things, to the fact that teachers do not always have the necessary competencies to understand and use evidence appropriately. It is therefore necessary to train teachers in accessing, reflecting, and using evidence from educational research (Educational Research Literacy, ERL). This paper examines whether and to what extent such competencies can be obtained during the course of a part-time master's degree program for practicing teachers. The analysis is based both on quantitative and qualitative data from the start and the end of such a study program at the University of Education Freiburg (Germany). The results indicate an increase in different competence facets of ERL. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
